Easter

Yeah, I know I'm running behind on things. That was one rough semester for me. I'm uploading and logging all the pictures and posts tonight and will be publishing them over the next week or so one at a time - so keep checking back!

We had a quiet Easter. We had originally planned to head down to the beach, but the weather cancelled clam digging and the easter egg hunt. We colored eggs at home.

I just love this picture of the Princess!

The Easter Bunny brings a big present and then eggs filled with change. Princess got a Robin webkinz, and the boy got some star wars legos.

I think he was a little excited, don't you?

Dividing up the loot.

I have to brag on my fabulous kids. They search SO well, no fighting or pushing or shoving. After they were done findig eggs, they even made sure they each had the same number!

This, of course, made them both a little overwhelmed when we went to a big egg hunt at a gymnastics center. They were not ready for the uber-competitive kids who pushed, shoved and raced and generally took the fun out of finding eggs.

In fact, M had only gotten a couple of eggs, and then he bent to get some more and they fell out of his basket and other kids were grabbing them - and then literally grabbing them out of his basket as well. D only got 3 eggs and both kids were in tears because of it. I just kept wondering where these kids' parents were when their kids were pushing kids out of the way to grab a plastic egg with a little piece of candy in it.

However, D won a dice game and got a door prize. And a sweet lady had seen what happened with M and felt bad for him. She asked me if she could give him some money so that he could go get some toy or a candy. At first I told her no, then I realized that sometimes we need to let other people do something nice for someone else that they see having a rough time. It was more about allowing someone to do a good deed and feel good about doing something for someone else.

So, even with some frustration, it was an enjoyable holiday weekend.

I'm glad that event turned out OK. So sad, but it warms my heart to know there are others out there who recognize things like what happened with M. I love the lady!
